S/V NAVIGATOR, our Island Packet 40 is scheduled to Norfolk Virginia on May 28, 2022 after two preparation days, though this may be delayed due to weather. The crew members are: Captain Tom Tursi of Pennsylvania (Skipper), Captain Tim Cook of Washington DC (First Mate), and student crew members Robert Wells (California), Ryan McKenzie (California), Stephen Kachmar (South Carolina) and Steven Sideris (New Hampshire). NAVIGATOR will make the passage to Bermuda via a non-stop ocean route. The cruise has an estimated distance of 670 nautical miles, and will take approximately 6 days, sailing both day and night. Due to significant weather developments in the track of S/V Navigator, the outbound crew is aborting and returning to Norfolk. All is fine on board Navigator, but a prudent decision is called for in this case.
